I love making these little prayer shrines!
I use recycled Altoids tins....
and beautiful paper...
and prints of Charles' original icons.
Here is one of St. Agatha, patroness of women with breast cancer.
These shrines are lovely for home prayer spaces, for hospitals, hospices and for travel. I love making them because it is a small way to glorify God and to spread the word about icons!
These are very sweet and would be a joy and comfort to many I'm sure, and a very frugal way to use your old Altoids tins...the perfect size too.

Comic Relief/Red nose Day - Is a UK yearly event to raise money for Africa & charities here in the UK. Its a massive fundraising event, led by comedians - has raised hundreds ofmillions for very good causes.... & the children love it!

I'd love to try making these! Do you decoupage the paper to the tins? I'm trying to think of how you get the paper around the curves so smoothly.
ReplyDeleteI attach the paper to the tins with Mod Podge. I do the flat sides first and then use strips to cover the sides.
Deleteonce you soak the paper with decopage glue it is easy to smooth to the surface, you can use the back of a spoon or any tool that doesn't have sharp or rough surfaces.
